August Chapter Meeting: Building Codes

Description

Join ASID NY Metro for our August Chapter meeting all about Building Codes. The presentation will focus on the following areas:

  1. How occupancy creates and changes code requirements.
  2. Interior finish requirements and their corresponding codes.
  3. The code requirements for accessible clear spaces and project limitations.
  4. Items that interior designers should not move, conceal, or modify.

Light food & drink will be served! 

Speaker: Michelle Jacobson, MPS, NCIDQ, LEED AP ID+C, WELL AP, ASID, LFA, GREEN AP, TRUE Advisor, Fitwel Ambassador

Michelle has owned her own firm for almost 30 years and has clients across the country. She specializes in sustainable design and environments in both residential or commercial spaces. She also teaches both graduate and undergraduate students at New York School of Interior Design where she specializes in Color Theory and Sustainable Residential Design courses. She is also on the executive committee for the national ASID Advocate X Design Committee and also is a member of the International Code Council’s Code Interpretation Committee. Michelle enjoys mentoring students and volunteering to help others discover their love of design.
