ASID NY x NYCxDesign TradeSHOW / SHOWcase at ABC Stone
Join ASID - New York Metro for a day brimming with inspiration. Attendees will immerse themselves in the latest design trends and ideas as they weave through a juried selection of ASID NY Metro Designer projects and captivating product and material displays by premier manufacturers—all set against the backdrop of ABC Stone’s exquisite global inventory.
The day’s highlights include a panel discussion with influential ASID designers Corey Damen Jenkins, Caleb Anderson and Vanessa DeLeon and ABC Stone’s Lyndsey Belle Tyler, sharing insights into their buzziest product collaborations and best practices, moderated by Sarah Shelton, Senior Market Editor, Luxe Interiors + Design.
Additionally, top designer authors will be on hand for book signings, including renowned ASID NY designer Barbara Ostrom with “Curtain Up!: Thirty Years of Spectacular Showhouse Rooms” and the celebrated Dr. Carol Bentel, FAIA, FIIDA, ASID, CID featuring “Correlations: Life + Work.”
A delicious lunch and end-of-day cocktails will complement the all-day design affair. Plus, one lucky designer participant will be awarded Best in SHOWcase for their project presentation vignette, earning a dedicated feature in the Fall issue of DESIGN magazine. CALEB ANDERSON
Caleb Anderson is the co-founder of the innovative, multi-disciplinary interior design firm Drake/Anderson. Lauded for his layered approach to interiors and the effortless skill with which he juxtaposes a variety of historic periods from the design continuum, Anderson’s work consistently results in sophisticated interiors that are luxurious, refined and always have a touch of the unexpected.
In 2022 Anderson expanded the firm’s initiatives around sustainability and established a Healthy Materials library along with other processes to embrace healthier more circular design. Anderson and the New York-based firm that he leads with business partner Jamie Drake, have achieved the highest awards and accolades in the industry, including the pretigious Elle Decor A-List, the Architectural Di- gest AD100 list, Interior Design magazine’s Hall of Fame, House Beautiful’s Master Class and many more. In 2022, Caleb founded Well-Designed, an industry initiative and organization that seeks to educate and support the design community through wellness based events, work- shops, and retreats. Caleb’s vision with Well-Designed is to be a catalyst of change within the culture of the design industry, where creative brilliance co-exists with wellness, and authentic connection fosters an industry of support, compassion, and unity.
COREY DAMEN JENKINS
Corey Damen Jenkins & Associates is an internationally acclaimed interior design and decoration firm based in NewYork City. Founder, principal, and proud son of Detroit, Corey Damen Jenkins is celebrated for mixing vivid colors with layered patterns to create inspired, iconic, and uplifting spaces,as well as designing furniture that brings the best of the classics into the present with panache and refined elegance.Corey is an inductee of Architectural Digest’s esteemed AD100, ELLE Decor’s prestigious A-List, and the elite 1stDibs50. His bold interiors have graced the front covers of House Beautiful (2020 & 2023) andTraditional Home and have received extensive features in many publications including Architectural Digest, ELLE Decor, Traditional Home, Veranda, House & Garden, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Detroit News. His first coffee table book, Design Remix: A New Spin on Traditional Rooms (Rizzoli), was released worldwide in March 2021 and has since entered its sixth reprint. Corey’s televised and streaming broadcast appearances include winning HGTV’s competition series Showhouse Showdown in 2011 and appearing as a guest design expert on The Rachael Ray Showand Open House TV in 2020. In August 2021, Corey made his debut as a MasterClass instructor, with his highly acclaimed 12-part course Corey Damen Jenkins Teaches Interior Design, which has been viewed over 1 million times and is now available through Delta Airlines' Inflight Entertainment partnership. In 2019 and 2021, Corey was invited to design the formal “Ladies Library” and Dining Room for the renowned Kips Bay Decorator Showhouses in New York and Dallas, respectively, and was a headlining designer for the 2022 inaugural FLOWER Magazine Showhouse in Atlanta. Also in 2022, Corey unveiled two new licensed furniture collections for Maitland-Smith and Hancock & Moore, a stunning fabric collection, "Trad Nouveau," on the Kravet Couture label, a luxury stone collection with Aria Stone, and a hand-drawn artwork series sold exclusively with Leftbank Art entitled “Mouths Wide Open”. Corey has been the recipient of numerous industry honors, most recently the 2023 ARTSAward for “Interior Designer of the Year” as well as the New York School of Interior Design’s “Larry Kravet Design Industry Leadership Award”, Traditional Home’s “New Trad RisingStar of Design Award”, Fashion Group International’s “Night of Stars Award for InteriorDesign”, and the D&D Building’s “Stars on The Rise Award”. Corey continues to indulge his passion for community-based work as an advocate and Board of Trustee member for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. Through his firm, he has also funded a scholarship and mentorship program with the New York School of Interior Design and is a personal champion and donor to the Ali Forney Center.
VANESSA DELEON
Vanessa Deleon, founder and principal of Vanessa Deleon Associates, is a well-rounded interior designer and business mogul. Vanessa is known for her diverse portfolio of luxurious residential, commercial, and hospitality projects, in addition to her private collection of lifestyle product designs. Her keen eye for detail and innovative sensibility combined with an intuitive mind for design excites a long list of clients throughout the globe. Vanessa is a graduate of The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and attended the Berkeley school of Design in New Jersey. She is also well versed and holds a certification in the practice of Feng-Shui. Vanessa incorporates astrology and the metaphysical into all her projects. Vanessa is a recipient of Latina Trailblazer Award and the Gold Coast Leadership Award and Editor at Large at ASID, and an ongoing contributor/featured writer for ASID NY Metro magazine. Vanessa has been featured in several coffee table books, and contributed to many publications. Vanessa has appeared in numerous television shows, her latest accolades include guest appearances on The View, and a consistent contributing designer on NBC, Open House, and George to the Rescue. Vanessa is currently developing and designing for her exclusive, tile, lighting, rug, accessories, residential and commercial furniture line. LYNDSEY BELLE TYLER
Lyndsey Belle Tyler is the Vice President of Marketing + Creative Director for ABC Stone. She develops the overall branding, partnership, and event strategies for the company and all of its sponsored programs. She has helped advance ABC in the technology space with her work developing and rolling out the company's proprietary Digital Stone Catalog and Live Inventory systems. These platforms allow clients to reliably specify material from anywhere in the world without leaving their computers. Ms. Tyler is proud to lead ABC's philanthropic programs and has been instrumental in establishing and continuing ABC's annual Carrara Merit Residency, which sends two MFA students from the New York Academy of Art to Carrara, Italy to learn to sculpt stone in the foothills of the Apuan Alps. Since its inception in 2010, the program has successfully birthed 25 new stone carvers and grown the name recognition of ABC throughout the A+D Industry as a leader in the philanthropic art space. She is a Maximizer, Activator, and Ideator who makes her own kombucha and loves brass bands, public radio, and green spaces. She is a graduate of The New School’s Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts.
SARAH SHELTON
Sarah Shelton is the Senior Market Editor for Luxe Interiors + Design magazine. Based in New York City with a decade of editorial experience, Sarah is tapped into the happenings of the luxury market, always looking for new and interesting products to feature within the pages of Luxe. Sarah is most excited about products that have a story to tell with a keen point of view that will make our day-to-day lives more beautiful and functional. When not producing photo shoots, traveling to tradeshows, or looking for the next source of inspiration, Sarah loves to relax by the beach collecting seashells and swimming.
DR. CAROL BENTEL
Dr. Carol Bentel ASID, FAIA, FIIDA is a partner at Bentel & Bentel Architects/Planners and Chair of SVA’s BFA Interior Design: Built Environments department. Dr. Bentel is a Fulbright Scholar, Fellow of the American Academy in Rome, Fellow of the AIA College of Fellows, and IIDA Fellow. Dr. Bentel was the 2008 Chair of the AIA National Committee on Design and Vice-Chair of the NYS Preservation League. Dr. Bentel is a World Architecture News Female Frontier “Interior Designer of the Year” Awardee, Hospitality Design Platinum Circle Honoree, a three-time recipient of the James Beard Award for restaurant design, also receiving other national awards from the AIA, SARA, and IIDA. She co-authored two books, Nourishing the Senses: Restaurant Architecture of Bentel & Bentel, and CORRELATIONS: LIFE + WORK.
Dr. Bentel has served on the faculty of SVA, NYIT, NYCCT, Harvard University, MIT, and Georgia Tech. Dr. Bentel received her Ph.D. in History, Theory and Criticism in the Department of Architecture at MIT.
