MARIA LOMANTO
ASID NY Metro President
Maria Lomanto is an award-winning designer and founding principal of DesignGLXY LLC, the visionary firm she founded in 2019 dedicated to health, wellness & sustainability in the built environment. Maria creates immersive experiences and is a passionate advocate, catalyzing people to make design choices that positively impact health, wellness, and the planet. She is a WELL AP, Living Future Accredited, Fitwel Ambassador, and Healthy Materials Advocate with a certificate from Parson’s Healthy Materials Lab. Maria co-founded the Health, Wellness, & Sustainability Committee of ASID NY Metro and the Alliance for Healthy Design. She served on the ASID Advocate by Design Council as Chair of the Sustainability & Wellness sub-committee. Maria is currently Co-chair of the NY Metro Advocacy Committee and previously served as the Chapter Advocacy Chair. Her work has been featured in Design, Time Out New York, BehindtheScenesNYC.com and she has been quoted in articles for AD Pro, Design, The Robb Report, and Forbes.
KAYLA LOWRY
ASID NY Metro Student Representative
With a diverse background that spans acting, social media, and interior design, Kayla Lowry (she/her) brings a wealth of skills and experiences to her current endeavors. Having previously pursued a career in acting, Kayla developed a keen sense of storytelling and an appreciation for the power of visual aesthetics. This background ignited her passion for creating captivating and meaningful spaces that evoke emotion and inspire others. Recognizing her passion for interior design, Kayla embarked on an educational journey at the prestigious New York School of Interior Design (NYSID). She is currently in her third and final year of the Master’s program. In addition to her studies, Kayla is an intern for Alexa Hampton, a position she holds with great pride and enthusiasm. After serving as NYSID’s ASID Student Chapter President last year, Kayla is thrilled to be taking on the Student Representative position with NY Metro. Her goals are to continue collaborating with students to foster an inclusive and inspiring environment and to empower her fellow students to grow personally and professionally.
