Many thanks to the Mohawk Group for welcoming us to their beautiful and spacious showroom on October 6 to install our new Chapter Board, recap a successful year, and enjoy each other’s company. Outgoing President Asler Valero gave awards to our auction sponsors—Lutron, Collins Brothers, and Elissa Grayer Interior Design—for their support of our inaugural fundraiser. He also gave Board Recognition Awards to Professional Development Director Chris Armenta of AVS, Communications Director Susan Tully of SKT Interior Design LLC, Director At Large Jamie Keel of Cambria, Membership Director Faten Baassiri of Studio 1820, and Finance Director Lindsay Sheroda of Sydney Frazier Interior Design. Liaisons Kim Mitchell (Westchester) and Arlene Angard (Long Island), and Emerging Professionals Chair Cielo Cortes also received awards. The Chapter honored Past President Maria Lomanto of DESIGNGLXY and Alexandra Zwicky of Novità for their services to the chapter this year.
Newly named ASID Fellow Michelle Jacobson, our incoming Chapter President, introduced President-elect Isabel Byrnes. Lindsay gave a brief financial overview, and Susan and Chris recapped our year’s 30-plus events with photos that truly captured the Chapter's camaraderie and spirit. It was a wonderful reminder of how much we accomplished this year, and how many of you came to our events to network with other members of the design community, learn from industry leaders, and develop friendships. And of course, it was a fabulous party, thanks to Mohawk Group!
