On May 1st, the winners New York Spaces Leaders in Home Products Design Awards were announced live at New York Spaces' first annual Spring Into Design event presented by Benjamin Moore Century. The elegant evening—at the ultra-chic Ascent Lounge—brought together product manufacturers and New York designers to celebrate the talent that permeates our industry. The party was attended by New York design industry luminaries such as: Ralph Pucci, Jamie Drake, Dennis Miller, Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, Matthew Patrick Smyth and many more, including Kim Mitchell, recently featured on multiple episodes of Property Brothers. A portion of the proceeds from the event (view the party pictures here), will be donated to the NYSID Alumni Scholarship Fund, making it possible for aspiring designers to pursue their studies.
New York Spaces editors nominated approximately 250 firms and individuals across the ten categories. Then, thousands of designers, luxury homeowners, readers of New York Spaces, newyorkspaces.com, and NYC style devotees voted on the Nominees from February 6—March 3, 2017 to determine the five Finalists in each category. Next, a panel of eight industry luminaries met on March 29th and chose the winners. The judges were: Joshua McHugh, Louise Phillips Forbes, Martin Kesselman, Janice Langrall, Bruce Tilley, John Barman, (all present at the event), plus Gisue Hariri and Matthew White. And without further ado, the winners:
