Interior Designer, Kim A. Mitchell, is passionate about intentional, bespoke design, timeless style and an artful approach to life. Kim founded KAM DESIGN, based in Larchmont in 2012 to create expressive interiors unique to each residential and commercial client. Kim is her clients’ trusted partner in transforming whole-homes including kitchens, baths, renovations and new builds, with high-touch client service, as well as project management with contractors, architects and trades teams, leading her busy, discerning clients through all elements of a design project.
KAM Design is honored to be voted Westchester Magazine’s Readers’ Pick for Best Interior Designer four years running (2020 - 2023) and is fortunate to be a Westchester Home Magazine’s Design Awards winner and finalist in various categories 2022, 2021, 2019, 2018, and 2017. Kim enjoyed the unique experience as a Design Lead for HGTV’s Buying & Selling with The Property Brothers, Season 5, and Property Brothers, Season 10.
Kim’s dedication to creative pursuits began in her childhood when you could catch her painting in her free time and participating in theatre through college. A balance of left-brained/right- brained pursuits was essential to any career path, thus resulting in a 14-year career in the image-related fields of the New York advertising and marketing industries. Kim's happy place is in nature or at an art gallery and she continues to feed her love for cultural and historical reference through travel (latest, Iceland; most cherished, Kenya).
Kim is an Allied Member of ASID and received her A.A.S Interior Designer degree at Parsons The New School for Design. Kim came full circle in 2020/2021 as a Part-time Faculty at Parsons Open Campus. Kim received her B.A. from Boston College, summa cum laude. Kim lives in Larchmont, NY with her husband and KAM Design's Management Director, Bryan, twin daughters and beloved rescue dog, Bailey.
