Education Legacy Fund
The Education Legacy Fund (ELF)is an independent, charitable non-profit organization that has awarded over 60 scholarships to outstanding students, pursing a course of study in the field of interior design, from the 5 Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) recognized programs in the New York Metropolitan area since 1998. With your help, the work of the foundation will continue to flourish.
ELF’s founder, Edith Greenwood, ASID, traced the idea of ELF to January 22, 1992, the date of the death of Elsie Mae Gross, whose phenomenal record of service inspired the questions:
How can we keep alive the example of our most dedicated predecessors?
How can we invoke the stars of our past to light the way for the design professionals who will follow us?
It was in response to these questions that a group of like minded ASID members caused Education Legacy Fund to be founded.
The purposes of ELF are:
1. To establish and provide scholarships to outstanding students engaged in a course of study in the field of Interior Design.
2. To offer grants for research in the field of Interior Design, pertaining to health, safety, the environment and to benefit educators in the field of Interior Design.
3. To honor the contributions of design colleagues.
ELF is a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) foundation chartered in New York State and fully tax exempt by the IRS to the full extent of the law.
