Michelle is a trailblazer in the industry, bringing more than 34 years of experience across residential and commercial design. Before joining DesignGLXY Group, she led her own firm, ML Jacobson Design, LLC, overseeing projects nationwide. She is deeply committed to advancing health, wellness, and sustainability in the built environment.

A lifelong explorer, Michelle’s perspective is shaped by her passion for travel, architecture, and the natural world. Her extensive journeys immersed in the cultures, colors, and histories of destinations across the globe inform her nuanced, environmentally attuned approach to design.

Michelle is NCIDQ Certified, a LEED AP ID+C, and a WELL AP. She is also a Fitwel Ambassador, a Living Future Accredited professional, and a Certified Healthy Materials Lab Advocate. As a member of the Female Design Council, she contributes to shaping a healthier, more equitable, and sustainable future within the design profession.

Beyond her practice, Michelle is a dedicated educator. She serves on the faculty at the New York School of Interior Design, where she teaches Residential Design, Sustainable Design, and Color Theory. She is an active leader within the design community, currently serving as President-Elect of the ASID New York Metro Chapter, Chair of the Advocacy Committee, and a member of the Health, Wellness + Sustainability Committee. Nationally, she contributes her expertise as a member of the ICC Code Interpretation Committee and the ICC Sustainability Membership Council.

Her impact has been recognized with several distinguished honors, including being named to the 2026 ASID College of Fellows, ASID Volunteer of the Year (2024) and Metropolis Magazine’s Planet Positive Educator of the Year (2024).
